So its been a while since the last blog! Thanks be to God I have a new job! I hope that I greatly enjoy the new job. From the sounds of it things will be better for Chris and I. A new job with benefits. Living a job without extra pay for extra hours hasn't always been the greatest for us financially! So come January 12th life will be better as we will be having jobs that pay well as well as having insurance. My biggest fear after getting married was like others...the thought of getting pregnant and not having insurance. Luckily...knock on wood...in the event it happens from here on out we will not have to worry to severly about finances as I will have insurance for the both of us. My only challenge currently is to decide what the difference is between the companies and which one would better suit us.
Tomorrow shall be a fun day! I will be going on a roadtrip with my boss from the hotel and then traveling back to waco. After the adventurous roadtrip we, Chris & I will be departing for dallas. This Christmas we will be spending time in Dallas with my parents and my sisters along with their husbands and 2 dogs! Should be an adventurous and first time to have 3 girls with their spouses, 6 dogs and 2 parents all in one house! I know I know your jealous!
To my one and only reader! Hope all of you have a Merry Christmas!
So I'm sitting at the dentist after driving thru fog and lots of panicing drivers. I arrived early to see if we could let the fun hurry up and begin....yea 850 rolls around and I ask the secretary can u find out how much longer! The dental student mozies on out around 9 saying oh I thought that ur appointment was at 9. I will be so happy after this job is over....then I can be done with this place! I don't know how people can be so stupid
So I got a job with convergys!!! I am so excited to be able to have a job with benefits! My job won't start til the 12th but will continue to work at the hotel. I wish I could keep my job there for it is something I enjoy, however...i don't think I'd have enough energy to do both. Hope everyone has a merry christmas!
Dec. 11....oh how I have waited for this day to come! Today is the best...come 5 no more watching 4 kids til next year. I would love to find another job but not so sure what will come up. Besides once may comes it will definitely be time for a permanent job...something in my field of expertise.
on another note I'm goin to dallas for the last dentist visit of the year. I was talkin to the triplets mom about how there was an upcoming christmas party and my uncertainty of what I will be able to and allowed to eat! Her response was "oh you don't know them so there is no point in going"! Maybe its just me but I thought she was being a little rude.
So last night we went to buy a tree. When we got home we learned that our tree stand wouldn't hold our tree. So....of to the store I went! When I got to the store they tell me that there are 2 different sizes. Needless to say I bought the larger one so it would fit our tree for this year and ones for the future! Plans are to decorate it tonight!!! Once that is done ill get some lights for the house. I'm so happy chris will let me put lights on the house since it usually would be without!
SO...who knows when the last time it was that I posted a blog! Anyways things have been crazy. I had a job interview and it looked promising til I hear there is a hiring freeze! Crazy I know. Not to worry there's more...lately i have been working more often due to shortness in staff. I also decided to join a gym so maybe i could loose another 20 pounds so my doc wont tell me im overweight. Thanks to my buddy Jennifer who will be joining the gym we will get into shape. However that will have to be put on hold til after turkey day. Chris and I will be traveling to mexican city for turkey day. We shall return to little mexico on Friday seeing how I have to work at the crack of dawn on Saturday. Anyways i'll try to post more blogs! Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!
Maybe its just me in how I was raised but I recall growing up that if I got sick my mom would come and pick me up, take me home and take care of me. I have come to the realization that not everyone feels the same way. Today a kid gets sick...vomit. So to me in my previous experience in working with kids a phone call to mention your child is sick means hey! come get your kid so they won't contaminate their illness to the others. In Waco it seems though that when a kid gets sick that there is no such thing as a sick kid if they vomit. Not really sure where the terminology is but its driving me crazy. Anyways back to the story... The kid threw up after morning snack. We had breakfast around 8:30 and from there we played inside and then went outside to play. After playing outside with jackets on since its a bit nippy! We came inside at 10:30 to have a snack. Shortly after snack was over the kid decides to vomit. So I call the parents to inform them their kid threw up and do they even sound concerned???? NOPE All they ask is does she have a fever. She doesn't so of course they won't come get her. Might I remind you that if these kids were in daycare they would have been sent home and mommy or daddy would have had to take off from work! So why can't it work that way here? Im about done with this garbage work. I hope to find a better job by Christmas if not sooner. So that is going to be what I will be writing to Santa to tell him I want for Christmas!
This weekend was very interesting. Friday when I left work I broke out in hives. At that point it was a definite no more working on Fridays. The weekend was a bit of a struggle to work. I felt like I wasn't gonna make it but I had just started another job a few weeks ago and didn't want to call in. Not sure what it is but if its a job I love I dread to call in telling them I cant come because i'm sick. So I went to work. After I got off work on Sunday I called the mother to explain to her what hives are and mention I couldn't come to her house on Friday's anymore! She didn't understand and I could tell by the sound of her voice. When I finished explaining to her she was like huh???...what are hives. I thought I was gonna die. Monday came though and I survived the morning shift of 4 kids. At 4 p.m. the mother came to get her kid and I showed her what hives were. I hope she understands what I mean. When Friday comes I wont be there but might be going to Dallas!!
In the event I don't post again I hope everyone has a Happy Halloween!!
This week has been awesome. So far I have only 3 kids and it has been great. If only it could be like this permanently. I think having a 4th kid would put a damper on everything. I feel this way because nothing will be the same come next week. Not to mention life just seems so easy right now. Had I not started with 4 in the beginning then there is no way I would have ever said yes to another kid. Thumbs up to an easy week! If only I could have tomorrow off. Nevertheless if the kid still has strep and hasn't been on meds then im not goin out there. I have to work this weekend and don't have time for illness!
So its been a while since I posted. I tried to post last week from my palm but couldn't get it to work. Anyways today I am updating for last week and this week!
Last week was dreadful! I had to train for the new system at my second job. Then ontop of that the ki ds started getting sick! Getting sick is no fun no matter who it is!!!! So around wednesday of last week one of the triplets started getting sick. She had a high temp and the mother was called. From there she told me to give the child some tylenol. I was not very happy with the response due to the fever and constant runny nose. At the end of the day the mother comes home and says i'll see how she feels but we'll see you tomorrow!! I was not pleased to hear this. Thursday morning comes and one kid has a runny nose, another one is starting to have a runny nose, the third child has a rash on their cheek. As the day progresses the rash gets worse so the mother makes a doctor's appointment for only the kid with a rash. I then encourage her to take the one with the fever. Her first response was no but afterwards she reconsidered and took her to the doctor as well. When she came back the kids left behind were happy to see the 2 who went to the doctor. Thankfully when 5:30 hit I was glad to go home and shower off any germs. Friday rolls around and its an easy day but not much to do with only one kid. I say this because the poor kid doesn't really have many toys. Her outside activities are playing in the sand or with rocks. Makes me very grateful for what I had growing up! Back to Friday....sure enough this child is starting to get sick too. When I arrived at the house her dad tells me that they have been up since 5:30 a.m. I really wished they would tell me not to come when their kids are sick because then I have a risk in getting sick. To which one day im gonna call in sick causee i got something from a sick kid!!!
So after dealing with sick kids towards the end of the week I also had to go into my second job for training! The training required brain skills which are hard to find sometimes after playing with kids all morning long.
This week has been awesome. I have only had 3 out of 4 kids. As it turns out the 4th kid, the one i watch on fridays has strep throat. So thank you parents for keeping her at home until she is well! Since there are only 3 kids I decided it would be a great time to start potty training! Hope training a set of triplets wont be too difficult with only 1 potty!
It's been a little crazy around our house. Last week I found out some good news to brighten the rough morning I had. Friday one of the kids I watch got sick and so I was REALLY HOPING they would come home and get her. I called the parents and to my disappointment they only asked the symptoms and said if she does it again then call us. Hearing the parents response was very shocking!!!! Thankfully the dad came home at lunch to show that he was curious to see how his daughter was. Unfortunately he went back to work which I definitely would have disagreed with. Who knows if she was sick for the rest of the weekend but I definitely went home and showered to prevent sickness.
Saturday was better! I started training for my 2nd job. Never would I have imagined that a day of training could be so tough! During training we had an incident but anytime the place is full why wouldn't you expect there to be an incident to happen??? So yea during Baylor Parents Weekend the water had to be turned off in the complex. During a cleaning of the shower by housekeeping the lady tried to turn the nozzle and well the whole nozzle came out from the wall. There was sooooooooooo much hot water that when you stood outside the room you could see the steam! Facial anyone??? Other than that wonderful moment the training was something you definitely need to be awake for. The training was very educational and I definitely learned alot. Wonder how much the pay is???
Sunday oh how I wish I was at church. I hope to be able to watch it on tv so I can stay in the word. Might have a few interruptions but its better than not going at all. Training on sunday was fairly easy because I pretty much was able to recall everything. When 3 hit I was glad to be able to go home. I think the evenings might be the most dead but no guarantee.
Monday! Oh I wish I could go running but i'll be workin from 8-8. Normally on Mondays from now on it'll be from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. So we shall see how it goes with the schedule. Today the kids have been very clingy but I think its because their dad stayed home from work today. As it turns out the dad has poison ivy...did i mention i am very allergic to poison ivy and doesn't have a good response to getting it. I sure hope that since he has it that I don't get it. Having poison ivy isn't my favorite especially when it spreads! Anyways its naptime here so im off to playing on the internet. Hopefully I can get out of here sooner today since the dad is here at the house!
SO....when I moved to waco I was on the hunt for a job. Little did I realize it was going to take me a good month to find a job. Currently I work with 4 kids and im not feelin all to hot about the job. It uses my creativity skills which is great but other than that its not the greatest when it comes to using my computer skills. I hope to find another job so in the mean time I have hopefully picked up a side job. In the event it doesn't go thru I will call some places to ask if they are hiring.
So I use to be more into shape cause I was so terrified I was going to look horrible in my wedding dress. Needless to say before I got engaged I was running with Luke's Locker.
When I moved to Waco though there isn't a luke's locker and definitely isn't a store designed just for running. The only thing that comes close is a bear mountain store but by the name of it you can tell it is geared towards the climbers! Anyways...this morning I thought I would start running again to get back into shape. It has been a while since I have run so thought i'd only do a short run. So this morning I took a jog around 6:30 a.m. Man was it dark and almost made me want to go back to bed just for safety issues. I typically run by myself because I don't really know anyone else who runs. My husband tried running with me when I was in full swing and after a mile started walking. :( After my short 2 mile run I noted that running in my neighborhood doesn't always have the most fragrant smells. I'm not sure which is worse...the smell of fumes from the cars that pass by or the smell of people smoking things that aren't cigarettes. Hopefully in the mean time I can find some better routes to run that are more friendly to my lungs!
Ok so I use to blog frequently but quit due to lack of time. I see that several people I know are blogging again so I thought I'd give it a shot!
Recently...almost 3 months ago I moved to Waco,TX. At first I was kinda bummed about moving here just cause of the location. The house is nice and Chris's family has put in lots of hard work and elbow grease!! Although the neighborhood isn't that safe or great I love my husband and enjoy the house we live in. Many couples I know don't always get to start out the first years of marriage in a house. Pictures to come later!! Needless to say though there is always work to be done on a house. Thankfully though we only have a few more items left compared to the beginning where the list was outrageous. This house has truely been a fixer-upper!!
On another note I have found a job in Waco but wouldn't exactly call it my permanent job, being a nanny. For now it is a job that pays the bills until I can find a real job that will use my skills. I searched for a month and realized that sooner or later I was gonna have to get something. So..one day in church my grandmother's cousin asked if i knew anyone who'd be interested in watching 3 kids (triplets) during the week. As it turns out there are 4 kids. The 4th child came into the picture by association with triplets! I hope though in the next couple of months that I can find a job that includes benefits and requires skills, effort and learning experience.
Anyways I am off to wake up the kiddos from nap! Thank goodness there is some down time to relax!
